Saturday, August 27, 2005 Introducing myself... Well, I've officially joined the world of blogging. Just chalk me up as another writer who figures she has enough to say to justify taking up space in the blogosphere. Anyway, my name is Sharon and I'm in the process of getting my first book published. I'm excited and intimidated by the thought of finally having a book in the stores. Having studied and read other writers-bloggers, I know that I'm in for a roller coaster ride, which can be a stomach-lurching thrill. The novel is entitled Again and is being published by Brava/Kensington and can be described as a genre bender: romance, paranormal, multicultural, erotic with some historical. It was a blast to write, and hopefully the stages of getting it into book form and finally into the stores will be equally gratifying. Usually, I just summarize it like this: modern-day couple Tyne and David (BW/WM), meet and are immediately drawn to one another. But their growing relationship is threatened by a tragedy that happened in their past...in 19th century New York. The only one who senses the coming storm is a psychic who has reason to be concerned - since David is her son. Not as good as the editors' but heart-felt. Anyway, I'll be noting the progress of the book as it goes from loose-leaf pages to an actual bound book in the stores. I'll also note those items of interest in the romance genre, especially concerning the sub-genres of multicultural, paranormal and interracial, which are the focus of most my writings. I also have a short story due out next year in an horror anthology entitled Masques V, which is being edited by J. N. Williamson and Gary Braunbeck.
