Sunday, December 17, 2006 Christmas Cider In celebration of the Yuletide season, I thought I'd provide a Christmas goodie - a recipe for some ole fashioned hot apple cider courtesy of AllRecipes.com. Just imagine the tangy, hot and sweet conconction as it sears down your throat, throwing off the winter chills, staving off the winter blues. Not to mention that intoxicating spicy aroma. INGREDIENTS
Place the cinnamon sticks, cloves, allspice berries, orange peel and lemon peel in the center of a washed square of cheesecloth; fold up the sides of the cheesecloth to enclose the bundle, then tie it up with a length of kitchen string. Drop the spice bundle into the cider mixture. Remove the cider from the heat. Discard the spice bundle. Ladle the cider into big cups or mugs, adding a fresh cinnamon stick to each serving if desired. And while you're savoring your Christmas treat, here is a short Christmas story to entertain you.
