Rove's further insult to Katrina victims

Three years after the devastation wrought by Hurricane Katrina, Rove manages to make Katrina all about adverse politics - adverse to the Republicans that is. Because, after all, Katrina was such an inconvenience to the current administration. So let's just forget the hundreds of lives lost, the families displaced, the properties destroyed, and a city cities forever changed for the worse. As Hurricane Gustav follows a similar path that Katrina took three years ago this month, the only thing on Karl Rove's mind is how this will adversely affect his party. Here is his quote from the Fox News website:

"The Republicans can’t seem to get a break when it comes to August and when it comes to the weather," said Rove, a FOX News analyst. "I know this is being thought a lot about in Washington and at the White House and discussed and I suspect they will monitor it carefully and figure out what to do."

Yeah, Karl, because it's the Republicans who are the real victims here. Damn those others whose deaths spotlighted the Republicans' incompetence, not to mention their basic heartlessness. After all, what are lives lost when compared to a drop in the polls?
