Monday, May 10, 2010  Lena Horne 1917-2010 Growing up, whenever I heard Lena Horne's name, I always envisioned a woman of elegance, beauty and grace. It hurt yesterday to hear that she had passed away, but it is a rest well earned. She had to endure a lot of racism and sexism in her day, but her endurance allowed those following to travel just a bit easier for the roadblocks that had been cleared. RIP Ms. Horne.
