Friday, September 02, 2005 Tell it like it is... Both Monica Jackson and Nichelle Tramble speak pointedly about the travesty happening in New Orleans. I'm in total agreement with both. I agree with Monica that race and class definitely figure in the disproportionate number of poor blacks left behind. And I'm on board with Nichelle when she pleads for folks to forget political stances and just help. I also agree that FEMA was woefully unprepared to deal with the situation, and their lack of foresight is partially to blame for the anarchy that has broken out. Hopefully, the PTB will get their act together and get more food, water, medical supplies and military manpower down there ASAP. People are dying daily and it's only going to get worse if something isn't done. PS: Yea, Anderson Cooper ! (per Crooks & Liars)
