TOOL & BAD BOYS Short, Short Ebooks |
Tuesday, November 08, 2005 So Scooter Libby wrote a book... ...and since his indictment, The Apprentice, the out-of-print novel Libby penned in 1996, has become a hot property at Amazon (the hardcopy is going for $599.99). The novel is purportedly a thriller set in turn-of-the-century Japan. But the "thrill" seems to be the more prurient passages, such as summarized by the New Yorker's Laura Collins: "The main female character, Yukiko, draws hair on the 'mound' of a little girl," and the "brothers of a dead samurai have sex with his daughter." And if that doesn't pique your interest, here's another scene: "At age 10 the madam put the child in a cage with a bear trained to couple with young girls so the girls would be frigid and not fall in love with their patrons. They fed her through the bars and aroused the bear with a stick when it seemed to lose interest." From the actual text: He could feel her heart beneath his hands. He moved his hands slowly lower still and she arched her back to help him and her lower leg came against his. He held her breasts in his hands. Oddly, he thought, the lower one might be larger. . . . One of her breasts now hung loosely in his hand near his face and he knew not how best to touch her. (Rolls off the tongue doesn't it?) And finally: He asked if they should fuck the deer. (The answer BTW was a resounding "yes." OK, anybody else thinking of the movie Deliverance here?) First Lynn Cheney with her racy erotica and now ole Scooter. You gotta hand it to these staunch neo-conservative, morals-preaching Republicans: they sure know how to pen some sinful tales. Per The New Yorker.
