Thursday, May 11, 2006 This idiot should be under the jail!  ...and not just fired! Troi Torain, a NY DJ at Power 105 known as Star (please! more like Fool!), took an on-air feud between a rival DJ to the extreme, threatening his rival's four-year-old daughter, on-air no less. Last Friday, Torain, in a tirade against his rival, DJ Envy (what is up with these names?), spewed racist perjoratives against Gia Casey, Envy's wife (who is Asian) and then threatened to do an "R. Kelly" and urinate on Envy's four-year-old, as well as perform other sexual acts on her. To show he was serious, he offered $500 to anyone who could tell him where the little girl went to school.Last Wednesday, after a city council member brought it to the city's attention, the radio station fired the DJ. Excerpts of the audio threat were played for the members while the distraught mother stood on the sidelines. "It is extremely clear that threats have been made over our airwaves," said Casey. "Threats to a 2-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl. He threatened to molest my little baby girl." Power 105 then issued this statement: "As of late this afternoon, [Torain] is no longer with Power 105.1 or Clean Channel Radio," said a statement issued by Rob Williams, senior vice president at Clear Channel. "We sincerely apologize to those who may have been offended by his remarks." To me, this action amounts to a criminal threat and "Star" should have his ass thrown in jail, not just fired. As a matter of fact, his behind should have been fired long before as he seems to have a history of racist remarks. Anyone who makes a threat, sexual or otherwise, against a child is sick!
