Remembering James Brown

James Brown passed early Christmas due to complications from pneumonia. He was 73, but all of us would probably like to remember the Godfather of Soul in his zenith - caped, sweating, and bellowing out his affirmation of love and groove to the adulation of millions.

So check out this vid of Brown's "I Feel Good" and see where everyone from Jackson, Prince and all the ensuing pretenders (even Timberlake) got it from. Since imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, I'm sure James Brown felt flattered all of his career. Here's to one of the original forerunners who changed the canvas of blues, soul and even rock and roll.
