Nothing But Red

A few weeks ago I posted Joss Whedon's response to the public "honor" killing of Dua Khalil Aswad. In his plea, he called for everyone to actively respond to the global misogyny that daily manifests in the abuse and killing of girls and women everywhere. Author Skyla Dawn Cameron is heeding Whedon's plea and is organizing writers to compile a collection of poetry, essays, artwork and stories and feature them in an anthology entitled "Nothing But Red." She gets the title from Whedon's post:

Because it's no longer enough to be a decent person. It's no longer enough to shake our heads and make concerned grimaces at the news. True enlightened activism is the only thing that can save humanity from itself. I've always had a bent towards apocalyptic fiction, and I'm beginning to understand why. I look and I see the earth in flames. Her face was nothing but red.

If you want to contribute or just pass on the word, you can find more information about the project at Bam's, where Cameron guest blogging.
