TOOL & BAD BOYS Short, Short Ebooks |
Friday, March 31, 2006 At last the Duke story made Nightline tonight Hopefully, Dateline will follow with its own story soon. Disappointingly though, the Nightline story only ran for about ten minutes. But we did get to hear from black female students at Duke who question why black women were invited to the party in the first place. One student declared her disgust while another asked whether the black women were just the sum of her body. Giving equal time to the other side, the segment showed the interviewer speaking with one of the lawyers representing the accused, who of course spoke out against what she believes is a rush to judgment. She also questions the motive of D. A. Nifong, who is up for re-election in a predominantly black city. But the memorabl quote came from one of the team supporters, a woman who identifies herself as a friend and who says this are upstanding "Christian" boys with good character. Had I been the reporter, I would have posed the question: "What sort of upstanding Christian boy drinks, swears, curses and watches nude women dancing? One of those things that makes you go, "Hhmm..."
