Sunday, July 09, 2006 Rachel?  I came across this pic at Vintage Images and thought the woman resembled how I pictured my character Rachel from Again. Demurely beautiful, refined and cultured, this unnamed woman has the attributes I imagined Rachel having. The pic is around a hundred years old and evokes an age that is presented in Again. The site displays a collection of pics taken before and around the turn of the 20th century. The sepia-toned stills of men, women, children, families and couples make you wonder at the lives these people led, how different they were from us...and how similar. From this picture, I assume that the woman here was monied and middle class, again like Rachel. I wonder whether she married, had children, or did she pursue a career? That's the mystery of pictures - they tell a story and at the same time present an enigma.
