Saturday, July 15, 2006 When Night Falls  Obviously, I'm a masochist since I've now decided to unshelve a horror story I started last year and work on it simultaneously with the Chicago historical tale I posted about earlier. It's just that both stories are pulling at me to finish them, so until I get the revision letters back on my Brava projects, I'm going to be working on both novels.WHEN NIGHT FALLS is a supernatural story whose heroine is named Charlotte "Chaz" Knowles, a stuntwoman who's next assignment is on a movie shoot in the mountains of Apache Junction, Arizona where eerie tales surround the range known as "The Superstitions." When inexplicable accidents and deaths begin to occur, Chaz slowly realizes that the crew is dealing with something out of the ordinary. Sheriff Wayne Eagle, providing security for the set, has his own suspicions about the deaths that follow and resemble the vicious killings of local coyotes. Together, these two will fight supernatural forces even as they fight an unnerving attraction to each other that neither one of them can afford to indulge. (But when has that ever stopped anyone from getting together?) Read the first few chapters.
